Mercenary Rogue

Post by tom1 » Mon Dec 21, 2015 12:32 am

Rogue
Not all men March to war to achieve glory in combat the Rogues of the mercenaries achieve glory in a different way, instead the Rogues of the mercenaries are tasked with softening up the stronger enemy characters by stealing there magic ring, charms amulets and anything else that isn't tied down.
The are good at there job and can even fool battleland assassins, but get them into combat and you can see why they steal rather then take.

Move 8
Cr 3
Toughness 2
Agility 0
Resis 0
Luck 1
Attacks 1
LP 2
Soldiering 3

In my opinion they would have the ability to steal enchanted items from enemies with a certain chance though I don't think they'd be able to use stolen items as they wouldnt kmow how, to avoid oblivion checks they could have a magic pouch they stash them in which negates any items placed in them.

They could be lightfooted have scout and a special rule that states if they charge an enemy from behind instead they can attempt to steal from them and immediately fall back standard 2d6(+ bonuses) at the cost of an endurance counter.

Also I was thinking they could try and do the hit and run if they charge in the front of an enemy or are charged but must take a deviancy check.

Any ideas or criticism is welcome :)

I like this one :)

But I think it should be a hidden piece, who is only discovered when he is caught stealing on a roll of a 6.

Yes, but once he's caught he stick out like a saw thumb and be a little softy in combat. But he would very cheap and if you put him next to an hero, he could be quite effective!

But perhaps these reflect more of a Thief than a Rogue?

What's the general difference between a rogue and a thief?

A Rogue would be much tougher in combat than a Thief, but a Thief would be much better at stealing or pickpocketing an a Rogue. But a thief would be really cheap too, at about 30pts.

I don't see why not. I can see the Rogue being a bit of a jack of trades, but master of none piece.
