French Version

This forum is setup to talk about all the rules found in Three Plains’ Rulebook. So here new rules can be suggested, current rules can be debated by Epic Members and Epic Members or Me can help new players of Three Plains get to grip with its rules.

If the translators are put in an subsection of the forum, englih users will not go in this section naturaly, and it will be difficult to find answers to questions :D

Just back from Paris, on the work again.

I have a problem for "many", the name of the world, still working on that.

Well I hope you enjoyed yourself mate :) and didnt work to hard eh.

Looking at the traffic stats we have a lot of French people who visit are forum and I feel it would rather unfair on different users who speak a different language other than English to insist that all that all post are make it. Also thanks to Google Translator there is no excuse. So me anyone can make post in any language they wish as I can just use Google Translator.

 Frankly, it imbaresses me that I can only speak English when some of are members speek 3 to 4 languages...

But I agree with you Brazouck, if I started dividing the forum into different speaking languages, the French would use their bit and English would use theirs and sharing of ideas just wouldn't happen. This would be in the spirit of are forum, so is not ever going to happen.

As for the French name of Many, how about a 'Plenty' the French version???

Yes, but ggogle translator (and other net translator) are sooo bad, take an exemple :

Je suis content de faire partie de la communauté de three plains et de bosser sur la traduction de ce jeu, les elfes et les orcs, ca me connait ! le monde de plusieurs est passionant et bourré de bonnes idées, j'aime surtout le stress de la bataille.

'm glad to be part of the community of Three complain and work on the translation of this game, elves and orcs, it makes me know! the world is more exciting and full of good ideas, I especially like the stress of battle.

Plenty in french is "Beaucoup", but it sounds strange for a name. I'm thinking about it with my wife and some friends

lol I see your point, though it does the same in English, but I can always generally understand what people mean in. Its the detail which goes missing.

Just don't want members put off posting that's all, because of their language :)

Thanks for your comment by the way :) The battle stress system is being improved by it being made easier to use. Though its a really good system as it stands... so I may have to have a consultation with you guys here first on the forum to see what you think about it before totally rewriting it. I think the new system greatly improves on the old one, but I could be wrong....???? and I don't want ruin the game, as the 'Battle Stress System' people tell me is the best part of it.

By the way 'Many' is a strange sounding name to the English ear too, but people have gotten used to it and even seem to like the concept behind it.

Hi bigbru,

Firstly, welcome to our forum :)

Well Brazouck was heading up this project, but we were updating the rules. So I think he felt he would put it on ice until Three Plains V3 is ready. Otherwise, he would have to do it all over again.

But I'm sure if you PM he will tell you the situation himself.

Hi everybody !

I discovered this fabulous game a few days ago, and this french version would be a nice idea. I would like to participate to the translation, but I don't have much experience...

Can I help ?

Have a nice day !

Hi Macsword,

Cheers and welcome to our little corner of the internet :)

Your welcome to have a crack at it. You might want to PM Brazouck to see if he's still interested in this project as its been some time since he's posted about it.

If you want to have ago at it yourself, I will give you as much help as I can, baring in mind I'm not a French speaker myself. However, we are working on a Pick-up and Play Version on the game at: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=697&start=40 Perhaps you could do a French version of that. Start small and work your way up?
