Are you going to post a post describing the process of producing your character?

I was not planning too. Also, I’m a bit push for time at the moment to put that together for you.

However, its not a bad idea and it could be something I do in the future.

I wonder do you group your work in photoshop (nx grup) or can you do it on 2-3 layers?

  • Dave posted: 22 Aug at 7:13 am

In photoshop I separate all the different parts of the model. So for instance, I will draw out a basic boddy. Just in that part of the model I usually separate all my work into folders, which are: Base Colour, Shading and Outlines.

Within each of those folders I place a good number of layers bits of drawing I do. So if make a mistake I can easily go back and correct it.

After I finished part of the model I will go on to work on different parts of the model, like its clothes different heads etc.

Once that is done I will copy that file and murage all the folders of different parts of the model, and keep the raw file incase I need to go back.

Will you make a guide “how do you draw rust”?

  • Dave posted: 01 Sep at 8:43 pm

    That’s easy.

    1. In photoshop, put down a grey layer (a5a5a5).
    2. Add new layer and use the ‘Scattered Maple Leaves’ sized 3px, and use the a black (00000) at flow 20%. Brush over the grey lightly.
    3. Add another new layer and use the ‘Scattered Maple Leaves’ sized 3px at a flow of 45%, but this time using a brown (f57e4c) and brush over it again to get the effect of rust.

After just play around with the settings until you get the result you want.

I saw new sets undead but when next update?

  • Dave posted: 08 Sep at 9:45 pm

Well I still need to work on the backs of these models, which I’m hoping to crack on with tomorrow and throughout the rest of next week. It’s just at the moment I have a lot a work on. So I’m finding it difficult to find the time to do it.
