Three Plains V.2.4. (2013)
Three Plains is a downloadable print and play 15mm wargame, which includes all the rules and models you will need to play the game with.
The dark old world of ‘Many’, so called because of its many names given to it by each race that inhabits it, is always at WAR! It is a world filled with marauding hordes of Orcs, imperial Elves, hardy Dwarves and mere Men, who are constantly warring against each other. Some will use their might to crush their foes, while some will use their cunning and others will wield devastating magic or use war machines to destroy all who stand against them on the battlefield. This is the game of Three Plains…
Three Plains is a Compelling Battle Strategy Turn Based Game, which simulates a Pitched Battle, where two or more Players go head to head with their own ‘Armies’.
The armies consist of small figures, which you can layout as you wish, creating your own unique style of play.
The scales of the models is 15mm.
The game should be played on a Tabletop 4X6 Foot, but any open space of a similar size will do. Also you will require six sided dice or D6s to play with game.
Lastly, just like most old world fantasy games, Three Plains uses magic spells and items to add a whole new level of death to its game play.
Print and Play Models
Three Plains is digital product and comes with its own print and play models, all in a PDF format. All model sheets have been illustrated in color to a high standard and each print sheet is set at a resolution of 6800×4800. However, seeing is believing, so click HERE to download a free print sheet of the ‘Professional Mercenaries of Many with Spears & Shields’ to see the quality of the prints for yourself. All Three Plains’ print and play models are quick and easy to assemble. So much so that you should have your first small army made up in a morning and ready for their first battle by the following afternoon. Also, as you see on the right with the assembled Professional Mercenary Model, once you have finished your first army it will look great too!
The Three Plains Rulebook V.2.4. (2013) and Army Lists
The Three Plains Rulebook is the most important book of the Three Plains series, because it contains all the general rules for the game. So without it, the game just cannot be played and none of the Army Lists will make any sense.
The main rulebook has over 80 pages of good solid understandable rules, covering all you will need to know to play a proper pitched battle. From moving skirmishers, marching units, monster reaction charts, archers shooting mass volleys of arrows, it’s all in there and waiting for you to explore.
The rules allow for quick small games, which could last for about an hour. Or you could choose to fight out an epic battle, which would span across an entire tabletop and take up an afternoon to play. It’s up to you; there is no limit on the size of game you want to play with Three Plains.
Though there is plenty of slaughter in Three Plains, mindless violence will rarely win the day. It is a cool head and a sound battle plan which will win the battle for you. Even the savage mind of an Orc needs to have a rough idea of what they are doing on the big day. So, Three Plains is truly about tactics, planning and just like any other dice driven war game, there’s a bit of luck in there too. Behind the scenes, Three Plains has an advanced gaming system, which can easily deal with the standard movement, shooting, combat and even magic. Though there is much more to this system than that. The ‘Breaking System’ or the Battle Stress Phase, as it is known in Three Plains is both easy to use and very good at its job at working out who stays to fight and who will flee the field of battle. Also, Three Plains may be a fantasy game, but its core rules are grounded in realism. This has led it to develop some very unique rules of its own, such as Exhaustion, March Overs, Pieces moving through others and many more, which you just don’t see in other fantasy wargames.
There are 54 magic spells you can throw at your enemy to destroy them. All the magic is included in this book, so that you can print them off and use them in a game as magic spell cards.

Three Plains’ The Herlanceians Army List and Models
Today the people of Herlanceia stand alone against the rest of Many’s powerful races, as one of the free and defiant nations of Man Kind on the Middle Plain. Though this was not always so… Once this proud people were enchained into slavery by the cold dark Elf imperium. However, try as they might, the Elves could never break the human spirit! So eventually the Humans rebelled and banished the Elves back across the seas.
Since then, the Herlanceians have grown in strength and numbers, and now seek to forge their mighty empire. They dream of creating an empire that will rival any other on the Middle Plain, even one that would rival Elves, their old masters.
Such an empire can only be won on the bloody field of battle. So this defiant nation must make ready for war. They must train their warriors, build mighty war machines and harness monstrous beasts to fight for them, but will they have the great leaders necessary to lead them to victory on the battlefield… only time will tell…
The Herlanceian Army List offers a player a wide range of pieces to field, such as standard infantry, cavalry and war machines. The Herlanceian army also has plenty of special units too, such as Herlanceian Grand Guard and The Men of Crack & Corn Mountains.
However, it has been said that the Herlanceian army is a Jack of all trades, but a master of none…. But others believe that their flexibility is what makes them far stronger than most on the battlefield.

Three Plains’ Black Lands Orcs’ Army List and Models
Ancient Elf writings tell of a race which raised itself out of the mire and soon infested the lands, only to foul them wherever they appeared. They showed no regard or respect for the oldest races, such as the Elves and the Dwarves, unlike some of the other younger ones, who did. Some even hailed them to be Gods. But all that came crashing down as soon as this new menace challenged their supremacy, knocking them off their pedestal, and forever ending the Dwarf’s and the Elf’s Golden Age.
As the Elves and Dwarves fell in battle at the hands of this new green menace, the rest of the new races saw that their Gods were in fact mortals, like they themselves, and so denounced them, leaving their sides forever. The sackers of the Elf’s and Dwarf’s Golden Age had gone by many curses, but the one name which stuck, and which they became known by for the rest of time was ‘ORC’, which in old Dwarfish means ‘Vandal’.
An Orc warband though a little unpredictable, is thing of brute force. The Orcs rely on their sheer weight of numbers and thuggish strength to subdue their opponents.

Three Plains’ Imperial Elf Army List and Models
The Imperial Elves preside over a huge ancient dark cold imperium, which rules with an iron rod! They do not care for the life that has risen up from the mire, as it reeks of Noteus’ foul touch, which is clearly beneath them.
So make no mistake, they would cleanse the world of ‘Many’ of all its mortal vermin if they still had the power they once held over this chaotic world…
The Imperial Elf Army have the very best of all the millitary units of war. They have supreme infantry, the best archers, brilliant cavalry, the greatest heroes and devastating monsters, all at their disposal.
However, their numbers now are few. So they must rely on their ancient mastery of battle tactics and their highly trained fighting force to make up for the lack of their numbers on the battlefield.

Three Plains’ Mercenaries of Many Army List V.1.7. and Models
If you have the gold, then you have the Mercenaries of Many’s swords!
The Mercenaries of Many are men, women and other beings brought together by the promise of PLUNDER and all the riches and power that it brings.
Some of the greatest and mightiest armies that Many has ever seen, have been raised under this banner of greed.
Yet, it is worth noting that after these ‘Brothers of War’ have won their prize, it is not long before a few brothers’ are found laying dead in the gutters with their throats slit. Well, the less who survive, the better ones share of booty is.
Though, if we put their gluttony, greed and their immoral acts to one aside for one moment, some mercenary’s deeds have gone down into legend.
The Mercenaries of Many List provides any army lists with additional gaming pieces, which they may lack. For instance, the Herlanceians lack cheap skirmishers to put on their front lines. Yet, thanks to this list they can now hire Initiates, which fill this roll perfectly.
